PPC Calls for Avelon Road Improvements

Margaret Mullane, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham, has taken up the concerns of residents of the Havering Council housing estate at Avelon Road, South Hornchurch.

Margaret visited the 1950’s built flatted estate after being alerted to problems of fly tipping, general littering and sad neglect of the children’s play area.

Margaret commented “It is so sad to see because looking around Avelon Road you can see that so many people take a real pride in their homes and area. The actions of a few inconsiderate people spoil the environment for the majority. I have today written to Havering Council calling for a clear up and also for improvements to the children’s play area that is looking very run down and tired.”

Margaret went on to add “Parents need safe play areas for their young children that are close by and this amenity could be transformed to be really inviting for those local children. I want to hear from residents of Avelon Road to get their ideas on how their area and estate can be improved.”

Margaret has written to the Strategic Director of Place at Havering Council raising these concerns, urging a refresh of the children’s play area, requesting that the street is put on a priority rota for street cleansing, and that enforcement cctv is installed.
