Ferry Lane Potholes

Margaret Mullane, Labour's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham & Rainham has been contacted by a number of Rainham residents regarding large potholes on Ferry Lane leading to the A13.

Margaret visited Ferry Lane herself and noticed how much the road has deteriorated, to the point where it could cause damage to several vehicles. Road users highlighted that potholes are very hard to see when it rains, and this adds another risk during the winter months.

With the new Persimmon Homes estate just a stone’s throw away, and the daily congestion on Ferry Lane, this is becoming a big issue. Ferry Lane is home to several businesses and is the gateway to Rainham from the A13.

Margaret Mullane has taken this issue up with Havering Council and has had a holding response stating that the council will be sending a highways officer out to inspect the damage and make a forward plan.

Margaret said: “I’m glad the council are acting so quickly on this matter. When I visited and saw how run-down Ferry Lane was, it was clear that the potholes are so large they could cause substantial damage to a vehicle. I have asked the council for an update once their inspection has been carried out.”
