The long running campaign to clear up dumped rubbish around the Cherry Tree and Rainham Road South area has seen further action in the last week. Responding to requests, Havering Council in the last week cleared away rubbish and litter deposited in alley ways off Rainham Road South in the vicinity of the shopping parades.
Margaret Mullane, Labour PPC for Dagenham and Rainham said: “The shopping parades and the vicinity around the Cherry Tree are a focal point for the local community. Keeping the area, the car park and surrounding roads clean and tidy is really important. Local residents and our team will continue to remain vigilant to make sure the area remains attractive for residents and is a great location for small businesses and shops to thrive.”
Local residents who had reported the mess were delighted by the quick action and have given their thanks for the clear up of the area.
